From November 12 to 17, 2024, the 15th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition was held in Zhuhai, Guangdong. In order to build a high-end platform for international exchanges and cooperation and promote scientific and technological innovation and industrial upgrading in the field of aerospace, the China Airshow Forum and the 2024 Space Charity Festival were successfully held on November 13. On the opening day, domestically produced J-20, J-35A, Y-20 and other types of fighters performed flight demonstrations, the Air Force's August 1st Flying Team and the Air Force Aviation University's "Red Eagle" Flying Team danced in the sky, and various types of air control operations and air strikes, unmanned and anti-unmanned operations, strategic delivery and airdrops, early warning detection and air defense and anti-missile equipment were systematically unveiled in the static exhibition area, showing the new achievements of the People's Air Force's transformation and leap.
In the field of commercial aerospace, Academician Wang Yiran, Vice President and Secretary General of the Chinese Society of Astronautics, proposed that the transformation of aerospace technology is not only related to the development of science and industry, but also carries the mission of promoting the well-being of all mankind. He emphasized that the ultimate goal of aerospace is to achieve international cooperation, build a community with a shared future for mankind, and benefit all mankind. Wu Ji, a researcher at the National Space Science Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and President of the Chinese Society of Space Science, also shared the same feelings. He said that China's international cooperation experience in the field of space science emphasized that space science is a bridge for international cooperation. He mentioned that China's space station and lunar surface research are open to international researchers and scholars, and he hopes that international cooperation in the field of space science can be carried out as soon as possible and in depth, expanding the "circle of friends" of international cooperation in aerospace.
In the field of low-altitude economy, Professor Cheng Chengqi, member of the National Air Traffic Control Expert Advisory Committee and director of the Aerospace Information Engineering Center of Peking University, pointed out that China has unique advantages in the development of low-altitude economy and is expected to realize an era where everyone has aircraft and every family enjoys aircraft services earlier than other countries in the world. In order to further explore the development of drones and low-altitude economy, the forum opened a roundtable dialogue session. Li Xiaoguang, foreign academician of the Russian Academy of Engineering and dean of the Institute of Intelligent Unmanned Systems of Qingdao University, pointed out that China's drones have strong advantages in the world from design, research and development to assembly and production, and batch delivery capabilities. Huang Wei, general manager of Aerospace Rainbow UAV Co., Ltd., said that the low-altitude economy is currently facing the problem of insufficient public awareness and lack of experience. Only by making technology closer to the lives of the public can the low-altitude economy truly fly higher and farther. Wang Gang, director of the aerospace industry of Dassault Systemes, pointed out that the virtual twin experience platform launched by Dassault Systemes serves the low-altitude economy, and users can choose specific aircraft, time, location and other scenes according to their ideas.
Sun Jiefeng, Chairman and General Manager of Zhuhai Airshow Group Co., Ltd., said at the forum that the China Airshow has become an important exchange platform in the international aerospace field, witnessing the vigorous development of China's aerospace industry. This year's airshow set up a low-altitude economy pavilion for the first time, attracting more than 70 low-altitude economy companies to participate. At the same time, the second exhibition area of the China Airshow was opened in Lianzhou, Doumen, Zhuhai for the first time, where drones and unmanned boats were performed, which also provided a scene for the application of low-altitude economy. All of these will inject new vitality and impetus into the development of China's low-altitude economy. Looking to the future, with the accelerated development of commercial aerospace and low-altitude economy, I believe that a new era of aerospace that is more intelligent, networked, and collaborative is coming.
